Babies are cute !

Of course their cuteness overrides their first months of life! There was nothing better than seeing my one-week old smile while she was dreaming or while farting! Nothing more beautiful than her funny faces!

Some pictures proving that sometimes even though newborns can be ugly... They are always cute!

Babies are... ugly!

Babies are super weird looking the first months of life! They are just so puffy and their skin color is in between yellow and pink lol.
Either way I thought my daughter was the most beautiful baby, until a few months passed and I looked back at the pictures and realized maybe she wasn't.... lol !! Until know that she's grown of course.

Here are some pictures proving my point:

First week as a mom

While some babies eat every 3 hours, my baby chose that she would eat every 2. During the day I was very tired, but I was able to handle my exhaustion.
During the night it was a whole different story...
I couldn't get up from my bed the first days because of my C-section, but at night my husband would be really helpful handing me the baby to feed her (I breastfed).

The worst part about her waking up every two hours was that in-between I would sleep just 30 minutes!!

First I would feed her, which took her about 30 min. I had to wake her up every 5 because she would fall asleep eating.
Then after eating, I had to change her diaper because everytime she ate, she pooped!
After changing her diaper it would take me a while to stand up and put her back in her bassinet next to my bed.
Once in her bassinet, I would just stare at her because I could not figure out if she was breathing!! She was a very heavy sleeper, thank God she still is, and she would not make one sound which really creeped me out.

Sleep 30 minutes and Repeat process..

Baby basics

Before I had my baby I had never changed a diaper!! So I ended up learning a lot in my last months pregnant and at the hospital.

Some things that I have learned:

1. Baby's first poop is black and super dense, kinda like the stuff they use to build streets. Super gross and smelly.
2. When anyone tells you babies eat every 2-3 hours, they really mean 2 to 3 hours!!
3. They don't need to drink water or tea, no matter what your mexican family tells you.
4. When you first see your baby you will cry. I didn't think I would but I cried so much because I was so happy.
and last but not least 5. BREASTFEEDING IS THE HARDEST THING EVER.

More pics of my tiny baby..

Birthing experience

Unfortunately since my baby was breech (see past post), I did not get to push her out of me haha.
I had to have a C-section, which meant that I knew exactly when my baby was going to be born.

It was a very unique experience because it was my first surgery ever. I was very calm, but once I was in the operating table I started freaking out because the table was so tiny and I felt that I was going to fall !!
I had a little panic attack because I could feel my legs and I couldn't move at all thanks to the epidural, I started crying and asking the nurse to move my legs because I was uncomfortable.
They had to give me a mild tranquilizer to calm down and after that I was okay lol.

Heres a picture of my baby. We named her Samantha, she was born on May 27th, 2015.

Months 7-9

Remember last post I told you that besides the first 4 months of my pregnancy the rest were a breeze? Well... I might have exaggerated!

Basically the only good months I have were months 5 and 6, because from 7 to 9 I was having horrible heartburn.

My baby was in breech position, meaning she did not want to get out of me haha. Breach position is that instead of the baby's head going down the birth canal, it was up... towards my stomach! This caused me heartburn and it made me lose my breath often.

At night there was no position I was comfortable in, I was only able to sleep because I am a heavy sleeper and not even the pain would wake me up.

I don't have any pictures of me pregnant :( but here's a picture of an ultrasound..
